Will focuses his practice on insurance coverage, complex business litigation, and appeals. Prior to joining The McDougal Law Firm, Will practiced at a Am Law 200 firm, concentrating on insurance coverage litigation. Will has practiced in both state and federal court, representing the interests of various corporations, government entities, and trade organizations in high-stakes litigation. Will earned his law degree, with high honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Upon graduation, Will was elected by the faculty into the Order of the Coif, a scholastic society that honors the nation’s top law students. Immediately following law school, Will completed a prestigious clerkship for the Honorable Robert H. Edmunds, Jr. on the Supreme Court of North Carolina. During law school, Will served as the executive editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and earned a spot on the school’s National Moot Court Team by making it to the final round of a roughly 150-person moot court tournament. Due to his achievement in moot court, Will was inducted into the Order of Barristers.
Will was selected as a North Carolina Rising Star by Super Lawyers for 2024 and 2025.
When not practicing law, Will enjoys cheering on the Tar Heels and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
